I Ve Been Proposed To By A Villain

I Ve Been Proposed To By A Villain

Okay, so picture this: you're minding your own business, maybe enjoying a particularly excellent croissant, and BAM! Out of nowhere, a villain proposes. Not just any villain, mind you. We’re talking the whole nine yards: dramatic cape, a lair that probably smells faintly of sulfur and expensive cologne, and a smile that could curdle milk. My first thought? "Did I accidentally wander into a Bond movie set?"

Seriously, who does this? I mean, I’ve heard of surprise parties, but a surprise proposal from the guy who, you know, tries to take over the world? It’s a bit much. And the ring! Let’s just say it wasn’t exactly a dainty little thing. It was more like something you’d use to hammer a nail into a concrete wall, but with diamonds. Enormous diamonds.

My brain did a full system reboot. Like, ERROR 404: Girlfriend Not Found. I was so stunned, I think I momentarily forgot how to breathe. You know how sometimes you see something so bizarre you question your entire reality? This was it. I half-expected a mini-robot to pop out of his pocket and start singing show tunes.

And his proposal! It wasn't exactly poetic. More like, "Marry me, and together we shall rule this pathetic planet!" or something equally charming. I’m pretty sure he punctuated it with a sinister chuckle. Charming, right?

Now, before you start thinking I’ve lost my marbles, let me clarify. This wasn't a real villain. It was a highly realistic, incredibly well-costumed actor at a themed event I accidentally stumbled into. Thank goodness. Imagine explaining to your parents that your fiancé’s hobby involves elaborately plotting global domination. That’s a conversation I wasn’t ready for.

But the sheer audacity! The theatricality! It was almost... impressive. Did you know that according to a study I definitely just made up, the average villain spends 40% of their time plotting world domination and the other 60% searching for the perfect villainous laugh? It's a tough gig. And now, apparently, it includes proposal planning.

So, while I gracefully declined (by which I mean I shrieked and ran in the opposite direction, tripping over my own feet), I have to admit, it was an experience. And hey, at least I know if I ever do need someone to hold off an invading alien army or retrieve a stolen artifact, I’ve got a potential candidate. Just have to watch out for those diamond hammers.

Lesson learned: always check the event description. And maybe carry a garlic clove. You never know.
